Finally finished. The hair is as good as it is going to get. If I fool with it anymore I will end up deleting it. LOL

and Isuperior you are going to give me the big head. LOL I haven't ever had any kind of formal art training. Everything I have learned has been from other artists mostly on Queeky but a few other art sites. I have drawn all my life, but started painting on canvas about 3 years ago right about the same time I started drawing online. The love for art is what motivates me, along with comments such as yours and the other awesome artists here. That is why I think communicating is such a valuable tool. It is very important to me to greet new artists here and comment on their work. However menial they may think it is, if they are here there must be a love of art. Anyone can learn to draw and paint, it comes from within and like I said comments, tips and criticism from other artists. I look forward to knowing more about you, and other new artists here if there is ever anything I can help you with...feel free to ask. If I can't we have a wonderful forum here and everyone here is very friendly so I am sure you will get along just fine.

long way from done...

Thanks Cheryl but it is a looooong way from being done. Your words are full of inspiration for me to finish this though, just can't do anymore on it today because I am so tired and my eyes hurt so bad from squinting that I am going to leave it alone before I mess something up on it so bad I end up tossing it out. I really appreciate your nice words though, I have to find a way to make the hair as shiney and pretty as I can picture it. I am soo bad at hair. Tonight I gotta go though, got an appointment really late tomorrow night for the next days early morning and lots to do tomorrow to prepare. May work on this a little tomorrow, can't seem to stay away from Queeky and this picture is driving me nuts. LOL Nighty night

Ahhhh.....

the hair looks so bad. I am not good at all doing hair. I wish I knew a trick. But indeed I don't. Just trial and error. LOL If someone does know a trick to make beautiful hair...please let me in on it.

How to draw hair

I would not worry too much about the hair. However, if it gives you a nightmare, here is a pointer on how to draw hair:

I did not read this article, as I have learned this technique before. In a few words about this technique: "Draw the NEGATIVE SPACE, not the threads of hair themselves."
