I took several reference photos so I could really study the light effects on these

I think one of the key things in painting icicles is getting the background colouring right - neither too dark or too light - because the ice shows up because of it's edges and they are only there from the light/shadow around it ... not sure that makes sense. I tried to draw some more and didn't get as good an outcome because the background didn't seem to work as well ...
i can jus imagine that on a door or something
i like doom...doom is good x3
I must admit this is one of my drawings I am happiest with ... I learned alot about drawing hard, shiny, clear surfaces
Great job on this Wungu. It shall be frozen solid right into my favs! Teehee! I love the colors and cold effects. Must have taken you ages!
I came, I saw, I conquered~
the ice looks so real Wungu! It's clear but not clear as ice is. This is just great. It cannot be less than 5 stars
You smell like muffins ;]
looks so realistic. successful
First snow. Now ice. They're both great. It looks so beautiful hanging like that. But I have the feeling that I want to reach for it and make it my ice sword or at least taste it.
I am really touched by your warm comments ... another happy accident though - I erased much of the colour I had blended in with a very soft eraser to get that transparent feel ...
I will remember that and use it next time I try to do ice cubes or icicles
