It's so cool how you did the lights ... are you fly-fishing too?

Love trout fishing, however...

the trout streams where I fished on my own land in the upper peninsula of Michigan were quite small and thick and tightly bordered with alders and other tangled stuff. So it didn't allow for any fly fishing expertise, of which I have little. Lots of stalking and sneaking like a cat to lob worms or spinner baits into deep holes, under undercut banks and logs with a short ultra lite rod. More like hunting than fishing sometimes...but fun just the same. Mostly Brook trout, very few Browns. We would occasionally hit the Beaver ponds and clumsily use a fly rod with some success however. Of course a tasty shore lunch was always a treat.

brownies

In Germany we mostly have brow trouts and rainbow trouts. I go trout fishing once a year with my dad and bro. Most of the trouts in the rivers are inserted by men because all natural grown trouts are already fished. They put thousands new trouts in the rivers year by year ... for the fishermen. When I catch an older one, I release it back to the river. Sometimes I think it's kind of strange to live the personal hunting instinct while it is not really needed any more. On the other hand it brings me back closer to nature in this rapid technical world.

Those fishing trips

must create great memories and experiences with your brother and dad. I used to do a lot of hunting for deer and game birds when we lived in Michigan. Sometimes in the lean years it actually provided us with food. Now days a camera is all I need. I'm lucky now that only a few steps from my house I have a chance to see wildlife everyday. Yes, there's nothing like some time in the wild places to feel real; and breath in the earth. Good luck on your next fishing trip.
