Don't give it up Harri2

Its possible that your computer is crashing and not the Queeky program, not that that couldn't happen. Just make sure you save your work even periodically while in progress so you won't lose everything at least. When I was faced with picking a user name when I signed on here, it was the first thing I looked at was a tube of Viridian oil paint. Thats the genesis of my name here. I do use that color alot, but oddly I'm not a real big fan of green.Keep up yourwork on here.

Don't give it up-

Smile Wow, I didn't think I was away from this site this long and missed this comment of yours. Thank you for "looking" at my computer's problem. I am getting better at saving my artwork early on in the painting. I have been using the program less but tonight I opened the program and saw their color squares and fell in love with them all over again. My computer is, in fact, closing down quite often now and I'm very afraid of it crashing so badly that I won't be able to open it up again. True trouble is that I have painting after painting on my hard drive and NO back up. I'm limited on funds but do have a box of MANY 2HD disquetts and about 7 Maxwell CD-Rs. Care to make a suggestion? Thank you for you previous comments. harri2 Exclamation Mark Puzzled

To Harri2 with no space.

Harri2 ..I would put all of my finished pictures on a photo storage site, like Flickr or one of those similar sites. Then I would definately load them all onto as many discs as it takes, and clear them off your computer. Eliminate all unneccesary programs and do a maintenance harddrive disc cleanup. That is if you have a PC. You will probably have to either beef up your drive or break down and do what we we all must do eventually and get a new computer. If you do it at all for a living...remember you can write it off your taxes. Otherwise you'll have to weigh how important your creativity is to you. Should you deny yourself or try to make a few extra bucks to upgrade? Or you can just paint at the easel. Hope you work it out...would like to see more of your work on here.

Drawing not backed up yet

Viridian, This probably sounds utterly ridiculous - especially since you haven't heard from me in awhile - but about using Flicker and some other storage places...do I risk people just walking off with my dwgs and calling them their own? Is it safe or would I be giving up any rights I might now have. (yes, I realize it doesn't matter if I lose the work). You seem familiar with these things - that's why I'm asking you. Plus I appreciate your interest in my work.I posted something new today. I just quickly drew it for a friend who's a gardening person like I am. I'm from Southern Calif where my mother could grow ANYTHING. I live in Southern ARIZ where I have to work real hard to grow anything. Anyway, thanks for your input. harri2:)

Thank you, viridian. On the one hand I very much like this site, Queeky, because I've been fortunate enough to evoke positive and friendly comments from so many people. No matter what category I draw in, each is accepted, appreciated, or noted by some caring person. That feels terrific. On the other hand, however, I have lost so many paintings because I sit down, start painting, have no idea what I'm going to put down, I like it, time goes by, before I can save it - Queeky crashes. Irretrievable losses. So I swear I can't come back. Then I look at their colors and no other site presents their colors as richly as Queeky. PS - why do you call yourself "green"? Viridian is kind of an old fashioned but classy term, though.o I like IT!
