Actually -

now that you mention it, there is a good program which has free introductory lessons and it is very very good. It teaches about drawing with pencils - proportion, perspective - plenty to sink -your teeth into. The Darrel Tank method of drawing: http://www.fivepencilmethod.com/free-video-drawing-tutorials/ If you apply what you learn online you'll be happy with the results. In general - the head is 1/8 the height of the body. In general the head is divided into two parts with the midline at the eyes going horizontally. In general the nose is 1/3 of the bottom half with the mouth half way from the nose to the jawline. Any deviation gives a face its unique characteristics, so practicing drawing ovals with these proportions until they are easy is the beginning step.
